YouTube Video Visibility Settings Now Available in Late

Overview

We've just rolled out a nifty feature that gives you more control over your YouTube video uploads through Late. Now, you can set the visibility of your videos to public, private, or unlisted right from our dashboard.

What's New

Before this update, all your videos were published as public by default, and let's be honest, that could be a bit of a hassle if you were trying to keep things under wraps. With the new visibility settings, you get to decide who sees your video before it hits the public eye. This means you can upload a video as private for client review, and then switch it to public when you're ready to go live.

When you're creating a new post, you'll notice a shiny new drop-down menu called visibility right under the YouTube tags section. You can choose between three options: public (everyone can see it), private (only you and specific users can view it), or unlisted (anyone with the link can watch, but it won't show up on your channel). No more hopping back into YouTube Studio to change those settings manually, which is a win for all of us.

Key Improvements

  • New visibility settings for YouTube uploads: public, private, and unlisted.
  • Default video visibility changed from always public to user-defined.
  • Eliminates the need to adjust visibility settings in YouTube Studio.
  • Streamlined workflow for uploading drafts or collaborating on videos.

How to Use It

To get started, just create a new post in Late and upload your video as you normally would. After setting your title, description, and thumbnail, look for the new visibility drop-down menu. Select your preferred option before scheduling or publishing. Late will take care of applying that setting when your video goes live on YouTube. Easy peasy!
