Overview
We've just rolled out a new feature that lets you tag people and company pages in your LinkedIn posts using Late. It's a handy way to give a shoutout and make your posts more engaging. Just a heads-up, it's a bit technical right now, but we're working on it!
What's New
With this update, you can now include unique identifiers called URNs
when tagging accounts in your posts. These URNs help LinkedIn recognize whether you're tagging a personal profile or a company page. You’ll need to include an @
followed by the name in brackets and the URN in parentheses. Sounds simple, right? Well, it is—once you get the hang of it!
Currently, you can only retrieve URNs for accounts that are connected to Late. So if you want to tag your buddy's company, make sure you’ve got their page linked up first. Unfortunately, you can’t tag external accounts yet because LinkedIn's API keeps that info locked up tighter than a drum. But don't worry, we're already brainstorming how to make this process a whole lot smoother.
Key Improvements
- Added support for tagging personal profiles and company pages.
- Implemented URN inclusion for accurate tagging.
- Improved process for connected accounts to fetch URNs.
- Set the stage for easier tagging in future updates.
How to Use It
To tag someone, you’ll need to create a post using the format: @[Name](URN)
. For example, if you want to tag your organization, just type @Late(urn:12345)
and watch as LinkedIn recognizes the tag when you publish. Just remember, you need to have connected both your personal LinkedIn and your company page in the settings for it to work.
What's Next
We’re working hard to simplify this tagging process and expand the ability to tag external accounts. Stay tuned for updates!
